Biography of Spiro Agnew
Spiro Theodore Agnew was born on November 9, 1918. Agnew first attended John Hopkins University, where he studied chemistry. Three years later, he transferred to the University of Baltimore School of Law, and started attending night classes there. He was elected Vice President under Richard Nixon in 1969, but resigned from his second term in 1973 after being charged with bribery, conspiracy and tax fraud. Following the scandal, Agnew became a business consultant and wrote a novel. He died on September 17, 1996, in Berlin, Maryland. He was the son of John D. Rockefeller Jr. After working in business and government, in 1958, he was elected governor of New York and later in 1974 he was appointed Vice President of the United States by President Gerald Ford. He died in New York City on January 26, 1979. Biography of Walter Mondale Walter Frederick Mondale was born on January 5, 1928. Mondale attended the University of Minnesota Law School. Walter Mondale joined the U.S. Senate in 1966 and won again in 1972. As Vice President under Jimmy Carter, he was a key participant in the Camp David Accords. The Carter-Mondale ticket was defeated for reelection in 1980 by Ronald Reagan and George Bush. |
